Notice: Vietnamese Public Security Force’s Traditional Day Off on August 19th
Every year on August 19th, Vietnam celebrates the Vietnamese public security force’s traditional day in order to show great respect for the men and women who work to ensure the safety and security of Vietnam. The holiday is observed nationwide, including by the Immigration Department, which handles visa approvals.
Impact on Visa Processing
As this is a public holiday in Vietnam, the Immigration Department will be closed on August 19th. Therefore, any visa applications that require approval will not be processed on this day and will be moved to the following day.
If you have already applied for a visa on the Vietnam Government website (evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn) from August 14th until now, please expect a delay in receiving approval. This delay will affect all types of visas, including e-visa and visa approval letter.
Important Information for Applicants
For those planning to visit Vietnam or submit a visa application during this period, we recommend factoring in the holiday when planning your trip. To avoid disruptions, please note the following to make a reasonable decision:
- Holiday date: August 19th, 2024
- Visa processing delay: All applications submitted on Vietnam Government website from August 14th to August 19th will be processed after 3-4 working days (does not including Saturday, Sunday and August 19th)
- What should you do: If you applied visa during this period time but need your visa to be ready on time, please consider to use speed up e-visa service (push existing application)
