Notice of Vietnam National Day Holiday 2024: Visa Processing Suspension
As Vietnam’s National Day approaches, the Vietnam Immigration announces its official holiday schedule for 2024. In observance of this important national holiday, the Vietnam Immigration will be closed for four consecutive days.
Holiday Dates
From Saturday, August 31st, 2024 to Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024, the Vietnam Immigration will not be operational. This includes:
- Saturday, August 31st, 2024 and Sunday, September 1st, 2024: The consulate will be closed as this falls on a regular business closure (weekend).
- Monday, September 2nd, 2024: Official Vietnam National Day. The Vietnam Immigration activities will be suspended in recognition of this national holiday.
- Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024: The holiday extends to this date as part of the National Day observance, and the Vietnam Immigration will continue to remain closed.
Impact on Visa Processing and Services
All visa applications and consulate services, including Vietnam visa approval, will be paused during this holiday period. Processing will resume when the Vietnam Immigration reopens on Tuesday, September 4th, 2024, at regular business hours.
Note: If you already have e-visa approval or visa approval letter then you can use it to enter Vietnam during this holiday normally.
We recommend that you submit your application before or after this holiday season. Applications made on or after August 30th, 2024 will not be processed until after the holiday.
For emergencies, it is best to find a travel agency to apply for an expedited service as early as possible before the holiday to avoid any delays. The expedited service will helps you get visa approval faster.
Things to note when applying for the e-visa on the official Government website
If you apply for the e-visa by yourself through the official Government website, the processing time is usually 4 working days (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays), so you should schedule your application as soon as possible to avoid missing your trip.
If you have applied for the e-visa but the status is still “in processing”, you can find out about the expediting service or contact us quickly and we can help you deal with this problem.
How long does expedited service take to process it? There are many options: 2 working days, 1 working day, 4 hours, 2 hours, 1 hour.
If you applied for the e-visa and received an email asking you to update your information, the processing time will be recalculated from the date you updated your new information and you will need to wait an additional 3 to 4 working days. Post-Holiday Operations
The Vietnam Immigration will reopen on Tuesday, September 4th, 2024, and resume its normal hours of operation. Visa processing and all consulate services will proceed as usual from this date forward.
